About GZA

GZA (Asylum Seeker Healthcare) provides good healthcare for all asylum seekers. We pay extra attention to language and culture differences, the asylum procedure, the living situation and the healthcare needs of asylum seekers. Our most important core values are trust, professionality and sociability.

General practitioner’s care for asylum seekers.

At nearly every COA (Central Agency for the Reception of Asylum Seekers) location, GZA (Asylum Seeker Healthcare) has a healthcare centre where the asylum seeker can go for an appointment with a healthcare profession, such as the doctor’s assistant, nurse, POH-GGZ (Mental Healthcare Nurse Practitioner) or general practitioner. When the number of reception locations changes, GZA changes along with them. GZA’s headquarters is in Utrecht. The medical contact centre, the Praktijklijn (GZA Hotline), is located in Arnhem.

Organisation GZA

As of 1 January 2018, GZA (Asylum Seeker Healthcare) organises healthcare for asylum seekers in the Netherlands. GZA does so on behalf of the COA (Central Agency for the Reception of Asylum Seekers) and in cooperation with health insurer DSW.

GZA was founded in 2017 and is a subsidiary of Arts en Zorg (Practitioner and Healthcare). The healthcare GZA provides is based on the Regeling Medische zorg Asielzoekers (RMA or Arrangement Medical care Asylum Seekers). Insurer DSW is the executor in terms of purchasing healthcare and claims.
